FC Kansas City News Release

KANSAS CITY - The Major Arena Soccer League (MASL) announced the All-MASL 1st Team winners today, ahead of their Championship Week Press Conference in Baltimore, MD tomorrow. Kansas City Comets' defender John Sosa highlighted the roster for this announcement.

Kansas City extended their playoff streak to seven straight seasons thanks to a mid-season surge and several late-game wins. John Sosa helped the team's success with his stellar defensive play (18 blocks) and his on-field direction as the Comets attack flowed from him. Sosa's helped out offensively too with six goals and 25 assists (Comets #1, MASL #2).

The rest of All-MASL team is below.

Stephen Basso (Harrisburg Heat) - The Harrisburg Heat experienced the greatest turn-around in the league this season as they qualified for the playoffs for the first time in modern franchise history. Ian Bennett (Milwaukee Wave) - Ian Bennett had a career season as the Wave finished the regular season as one of the hottest teams in the league. His career-best 53 goals and 64 points were each second-best in the league. His 14 Power Play Goals were #1 in the league

Max Ferdinand (Milwaukee Wave) - While Bennet was the flashy goal-scorer, Max Ferdinand was the quiet workhorse for the Milwaukee Wave. Ferdinand led the league in Assists (30) and was second on the team in goals (18) and points (48).
