Jim Pankovits Named All-Star Futures Game Coach

JACKSON, TENN. (JUNE 20, 2012) - Jackson Generals manager Jim Pankovits has been named a coach for the U.S. Team in the 2012 SiriusXM All-Star Futures Game to be held Sunday, July 8th at Kauffman Stadium in Kansas City.

Pankovits is in his second year with the Mariners organization managing the Generals. Pankovits led Jackson to a Southern League North first-half title posting a 42-28 (.600) record.

Rosters for the 2012 SiriusXM All-Star Futures Game will be announced Thursday afternoon.

The SiriusXM All-Star Futures Game, which is now in its 14th year, features the top Minor League prospects competing in a USA vs. World format. The game will begin at 2 p.m. PT and can be viewed live on ESPN2, ESPN2 HD and MLB.com. SiriusXM, the Official Satellite Radio Partner of Major League Baseball, will provide play-by-play coverage on MLB Network Radio XM 89 in addition to its other comprehensive live coverage from Kansas City. All-Star Sunday is the first of three days of All-Star events at Kauffman Stadium, culminating with the 83rd All-Star Game on Tuesday, July 10th.

The Generals resume the regular season after the All-Star break on Thursday night against the Huntsville Stars, with first pitch at 7:05 p.m. The Generals were the first half champions in the Southern League North Division and posted the league's best record at 42-28.
