Jilleyn Brown Vickery to lead East Kentucky Dance Team

PIKEVILLE, KY. - In addition to having the opportunity to watch an exciting brand of professional basketball, fans of the East Kentucky Miners will also get the chance to be entertained when the CBA team's dance squad hits the floor. An Eastern Kentuckian who has experience as a professional dancer has been appointed to lead the East Kentucky dance team into the 2007-08 season. Jilleyn Brown Vickery has been named dance team coordinator/choreographer for the East Kentucky Miners as the professional basketball franchise nears the start of its inaugural campaign.
Vickery began her dance career at the age of 3, taking classes at her mother's dance studio. She took classes at Dance Etc. Studio of Dance and was a member of the Prestonsburg High School Dance Cats, a nationally-known prep squad. She also studied dance at Louisburg College in North Carolina.
Vickery began her professional career as an XFL Cheerleader. The Floyd County native was also a New Jersey Storm Dancer. The versatile Vickery has appeared in music videos, print ads and worked as a backup dancer in New York and Florida.
Vickery was born and raised in Floyd County, spending two summers appearing in shows at Jenny Wiley Summer Music Theatre as a lead dancer. She also choreographed and performed at the Stage Door Theatre in South Florida.
Vickery moved home three years ago to raise her family - which includes sons Ethan and Brody - with husband Andrew.
