JetHawks to Pay Tribute to Local Commuters and High Gas Prices

(LANCASTER, CA) - The JetHawks tribute to Antelope Valley drivers, the "Salute to the Commute" presented by Pannon Homes, will take place this Sunday, June 4 at Clear Channel Stadium. Besides special ticket pricing, fun contests will be held throughout the game to celebrate the everyday trials and tribulations present in the daily drive on the 14 Freeway.
"Nobody ever does anything for the people stuck in their car for two hours or even more every day," says JetHawks general manager Brad Seymour. "We thought we'd give people a fun place to go on a Sunday afternoon where they can unwind with their family and win some great, useful prizes".
To coincide with the current average price for a gallon of gasoline in the State of California, Reserved Section tickets will be just $3.25. While this is twice as much as we are used to paying at the pump, this amount is almost half the price fans normally pay for those tickets.
Contests honoring the longest and shortest commute to and from work, "Best Spilled Coffee in the Car" Story Recital and a travel mug beauty contest will take place throughout the game.
Prizes that will help out any commuter will be awarded throughout the game, including, gas certificates from Petro-Lock, Havoline Oil Changes from Kwik Oil, car washes, day care from Desert Christian Schools, Metro Link passes and books on tape.
"With game time scheduled for 2 PM, we'll guarantee a fun day of baseball and entertainment," Seymour explained. "Plus, we also will ensure that our commuter friends get home by early evening and get a good night's sleep before hitting the road for the Monday morning grind."
