JetHawks Host Antelope Valley College in Exhibition Game Tuesday

(LANCASTER, CA) - The Lancaster JetHawks, Class A Affiliate of the Houston Astros, will prepare for its season with what has become a highlight of the pre-season, the annual exhibition game against Antelope Valley College. The game will take place Tuesday evening at 5 PM. After the contest all JetHawks season ticket and ticket plan holders are invited to a special "Meet the Team" barbeque on the third base concourse.
This will be the fourth consecutive season that the JetHawks and Marauders have met for the JetHawks final tune-up before Opening Day. It will be the first experience for the new team to play at Clear Channel Stadium in front of its home fans in Lancaster. The seven-inning contest will include a sneak peak for fans of many of the new attractions at Clear Channel Stadium. The new Hawkettes will make their first performance while the JetHawks new house band, Momentary Lapse, will entertain the crowd with live music. The redesigned JetHawks Gift Store will be open for the first time, featuring new lines of JetHawks apparel and souvenirs.
Seating will be general admission and tickets will be just $5. A portion of the proceeds for this event go directly to the Antelope Valley College baseball program.
All JetHawks ticket plan holders, including season ticket and mini-plan packages, are invited to the "Meet the Team Barbeque". Fans will have the opportunity to chat with the newest JetHawks, as well as new manager Wes Clements and his coaching staff.
The JetHawks open the 2009 season, its first as an affiliate of the Houston Astros, on the road Thursday against the High Desert Mavericks. The JetHawks will return to Lancaster for the home opener next Monday, April 13. Tickets for the Opening Night Extravaganza that include an All-You-Can-Eat buffet dinner are just $10.
