Lancaster JetHawks News Release
VISALIA, Calif. - The JetHawks suffered their biggest loss of the season on Saturday night, falling to the Visalia Rawhide, 14-0, at Recreation Ballpark.
The loss snapped Lancaster's five-game win streak and kept them from matching their season-best six-game streak.
The Rawhide (20-17, 64-39) jumped on the board with four runs in the first inning against starter Will Gaddis (6-7).
Gaddis settled in to put up zeroes over the next three frames, but Visalia came out swinging in the fifth. The Rawhide scored nine runs in the inning and chased Gaddis. The JetHawks (21-16, 55-50) needed two relievers to come on from the bullpen to finish the inning.
Gaddis was ultimately charged with nine runs on 13 hits over four-plus innings.
Shumpei Yoshikawa (4-6) allowed only two runs over five innings to pick up the win.
Lancaster was held to three hits in the contest. Ryan Vilade had a 10-game hit streak come to an end while Sean Bouchard and Taylor Snyder each lost eight-game hitting streaks.
The clubs will play a rubber game on Sunday evening at 6 p.m. Left-hander Colten Schmidt is slated to start for the JetHawks against Justin Lewis.
