Lancaster JetHawks News Release

Lancaster, Ca. – Lancaster's offense pounded out 15 hits in a come-from-behind 8-7 win against the Quakes on Mother's Day at the Hangar. In completing the three game sweep, the JetHawks (20-16) have won four straight overall, while Rancho Cucamonga (17-18) drops their season high seventh straight, falling under .500 for the first time since April 11th. It was Lancaster's second series sweep of the season, having previously takes three from Modesto April 11-13.

Lance Cormier (4-3) was shaky early, but retired the last 14 hitters he faced to earn the win. Cormier allowed six hits and five runs, while retiring the side in order in the fourth through seventh innings.

Trailing 5-1 in the third, the JetHawks added a single run on Dan Uggla's triple, and Josh Kroeger's ground out. Chris Snyder closed the gap to one with his third home run of the season, a two-run line drive to left field with two outs in the fifth.

Quakes starter Ervin Santana did not figure in the decision, pitching five innings, allowing 10 hits and four earned runs.

During the seven game losing streak, the Quakes have used their bullpen either with a lead or a tie score, and have blown all seven. Mark O'Sullivan relieved in the sixth, and gave up one out singles to Danny Richar and Marland Williams. One out later Josh Kroeger tied the score with a single to center, and Williams after taking third, scored on a wild pitch for a 6-5 lead.

Richar singled in a pair one inning later with his third hit of the game.

O'Sullivan (0-2) allowed four hits and four runs in just 1 1/3 innings to take the loss.

After an off day, the JetHawks embark on a six game North Division road trip, starting with three in Bakersfield. Matt Henrie (1-4, 3.86) will pitch the series opener against left-hander Chris Seddon (3-0, 1.65).
