Madison, NJ. The ABA Jersey Express will host the newest ABA team from Hampton Roads VA, the New Hope Trailblazers, this Saturday night at Drew University in the Trailblazers inaugural game. Originally scheduled to begin play in 2009, the Trailblazers were eager to get started and have been put into the ABA schedule to compete this season. According to Coach Hinton, "We have a good squad and are very appreciative of the opportunity that the ABA has given us to play some games this season - and we are especially pleased that the Jersey Express fit us into their schedule. Jersey is one of the ABA's best teams and it will give us a chance to see how competitive we are. It should be a great game."
"We are especially looking forward to this game. It has been difficult putting our schedule together," stated Marsha Blount, team owner. "But with Montreal, NYC, Albany from the CBA, New Hope plus some visits from teams from Cleveland, West Virginia and Tennessee, we now have a very good schedule with excellent ABA teams. Our goal is to make the ABA playoffs and to win the ABA championship. And I believe we have a team that can compete for the title."
