East Orange, N.J. (Tuesday, October 27, 2009) - As their November 21st season opener begins to creep even closer, the Jersey Express of the American Basketball Association announced today more of the details surrounding their opening night celebration. The Express will face the NYC Thunder that night at 7:00 pm with the festivities beginning an hour before the game gets started.

"I'm extremely excited about the upcoming season," Express President Marsha Blount commented. "With opening night fast approaching, the goal this season is nothing less than a trip to the finals. We're entering our fifth season, and we feel that we've assembled the most talent, collectively, that we've ever had."

Among the entertainers scheduled to appear that evening include hip hop artist Greg Nice of Nice & Smooth fame. The theme surrounding the evening will be an Anti-Violence Night of Entertainment, with the Express encouraging everyone to help them "Shoot Out Violence." Express head coach and Irvington Detective Quaasim Austin will also be hosting his birthday celebration at the home opener as well.

"The goal of the Jersey Express is to bring an ABA Championship to New Jersey and reestablish New Jersey as a professional basketball Mecca again," Blount stated. "Not since the ABA Nets won the title has New Jersey had a champion. All we need is the support of our fans to be that sixth man on the court."

The Express have a special ticket offer going right now that gives a half-priced ticket to kids 16 and under with the purchase of an adult ticket for the full price of $10. Fans can take advantage of that today by logging onto the team website at www.JerseyExpress.net. "On November 21st at 7:00 pm, I look forward to us establishing ourselves immediately as the team to beat, not only in our division, but around the league," Blount continued. "The NYC Thunder has become our intense rival, and opening up against them should be exciting for the fans."
