November 2, 2011 - American Basketball Association (ABA)
Jersey Express News Release

Jersey City, N.J. (Friday, October 28, 2011) - The Jersey Express opened up training camp for the 2011-12 ABA season, as 24 hopefuls fight for a spot on the team's active roster.

The players are battling for the remaining spots on the Express to join several returning played such as forwards Zahir Carrington (Lehigh) and Dexter Gray (St. John's/Iona), as well as rookie guard Darnell Braswell (DeSales) and forward Kevin Edmonds (Harcum).

Coach Joe Amador will lead the Express, who rank fifth out of 24 teams in the ABA's preseason power rankings. He opened camp by speaking to the players about the great opportunity they each had to compete against some of the best talent in the nation.

"'You will be playing against, probably the best talent the ABA has seen," said Amador. "With the current state of the NBA lockout, current and former players are playing in the ABA now. This is your opportunity. This is your chance to prove that you belong on the court with the best players in the league."

The Express home opener is against the Staten Island Vipers on Saturday, November 19 at 7 p.m. General admission tickets are only $10, with $5 tickets for children. The halftime show will feature FE, performing her single 'Love is a Gamble', which is available on ITunes. The Jersey Express offer fun-filled, family entertainment at an affordable price.
