Jersey Express Open Season on the Road

November 11, 2011 - American Basketball Association (ABA)
Jersey Express News Release

The Jersey Express opens the 2011-2012 ABA season this Saturday, November 12, as they travel to take on the Northeast Division rival Connecticut Topballerz.

The Express, who are ranked sixth out of 24 teams in the ABA's pre - season power rankings, boast a talented and versatile roster, including rookie forward Kevin Edmonds, who averaged 17 points per game for Harcum College a year ago, and guard Darnell Braswell, who is the all-time leading scorer at DeSales University (1,745 points), as well Zahir Carrington, who 1,000-point scorer at Division-1 Lehigh University, tallying 1,260 points over the course of his career at Lehigh University.

Open tryouts were loaded with talented players, making the final roster decisions difficult on owner Marsha Blount and Coach Joe Amador. It was tough decision and we're not quite set on the final roster spots, said Blount. The players are all so talented and have worked so hard to get to this point.

Amador believes the Express have found the right mix of players to compete at high level in the fast- paced ABA game. I am very excited about the current roster, said Amador. We have two returning players that will bring valuable experience. We will be strong, athletic and quick perfect for the ABA tempo.
