Jersey Express Earn 1st Win at Home

The Jersey Express opened the 2011-2012 ABA home season on Saturday; with an exciting 98-94 win over Northeast Division rival the Staten Island vipers.

The Express, were led by a trio of players, with Darnell Braswell' 23, Dexter Gray's 20, 11 & 5blks, and Zahir Carrington's 18 & 13. Sedale Walton chipped in 14pts & 6rbds. The Express are now 1-1 on this new season, and have 4 different players averaging double digit points, with Dexter & Zahir also averaging a double-double.

Next up for the Express is a visit to NY, to take on the NY Charters, on Sunday, November 20th @ Manhattan Science High @ 8pm. The Charters are an expansion team in the Northeast, and feature several former AND1 players.

I'd like to thank Mayor Healy, Mr. Adams of the Courier Times Newspaper for supplying the fan participation giveaways, and all the Fans that came out to support our home opener! Fe performed a wonderful halftime show, and the fans really enjoyed it. We're looking to increase our fan support, with continued community efforts; stated Team Owner Marsha Blount.

"It was a great game, with exciting typical ABA action, coming down to the last minute! I'm extremely proud of the guys for their effort for battling thru adversity to pull off the victory. We're looking forward to taking on the NY Charters, and will approach this game like any other. We understand that the Charters have talent, but we'll stick with our game plan to be successful' stated Coach Amador.
