Jersey Express News Release
East Orange, N.J. (Thursday, December 17, 2009) - After opening the American Basketball Association season with four of its first five games at home, the Jersey Express (4-1) will hit the road for nearly a month before returning to East Orange Campus High School on Saturday, January 9th. When the Express host the New York Red Riders that evening at 7:00 pm, the theme of the night will surround the Essex County School Systems, and a special halftime appearance will be made by Webstar and S&S from HOT 97.
"I feel the success of our team is only as successful as how we interact and partner with the community that supports us," Express President Marsha Blount commented. "We're getting it done on the court and need your support. The team sits atop the division and looks to make our return home after the holidays the biggest event to start the New Year. HOT 97's Webstar and S&S will help make January 9th a true 'Express Experience'."
All student tickets for this homecoming will be only $5, and general admission adult tickets are $10. In anticipation of this night for the Essex County Schools System, the Express players and coaching staff will be making the rounds throughout the area, visiting each school that contacts them for tickets to the game. Anyone who wishes to preorder tickets can do so by emailing info@jerseyexpress.net, and management from the Express will arrange to have its players available for delivery of the tickets at a school function.
The Jersey Express is a member of the American Basketball Association and is currently amid its fifth season in the ABA. Quaasim Austin is the head coach of the Express with Cassandra Smith serving as his assistant coach, and the team plays its home schedule at East Orange Campus High School. The Express made the playoffs in each of their past two seasons and reached the ABA Elite Eight last year in Nashville, Tennessee.
Note: OurSports Central no longer actively covers the American Basketball Association (ABA) as a professional league due in part to its inability to publish and play a schedule and the transitory nature of many of its teams.
