Jennings Wins AFL Weekly Award for Week 16

PHILADELPHIA (July 1, 2014) - Philadelphia Soul defensive lineman, Teddy Jennings, was awarded the Riddell Defensive Player of the Week award following a dominating performance against the Iowa Barnstormers in Week 16.

Jennings (6-6, 260, Connecticut) finished with 3.5 sacks and a total of 4.5 tackles in Philadelphia's 84-48 victory over the Barnstormers. On the season, Jennings has a total of 23.0 tackles and 9.0 sacks for 74 yards. His third sack of the night resulted in a safety, making him the only Soul player to have a safety for the 2014 season.

"I'm happy to receive this award," said Soul defensive lineman Teddy Jennings. "But it was a team effort for me to be able to get this. This award reflects the efforts of us as a team and I am extremely grateful."

The Philadelphia Soul return home this week where they will face the Orlando Predators on Monday, July 7 at 8 p.m. The game will be televised on ESPN2.
