YOUNGSTOWN, OHIO - Youngstown SteelHounds forward Jeff Christian may have been the lone SteelHound representative at the 2006 Central Hockey League All-Star Game in Hidalgo, Texas (home of the Rio Grande Valley Killer Bees) but he certainly made some noise on Wednesday evening in front of 4,975 fans at the Dodge Arena as he scored the game deciding goal in a shootout propelling the Northern Conference to a 10-9 victory.
Christian entered the game leading the CHL in goals with 32 making it only fitting that he lit the lamp late in the second period making the score 6-4 in favor of the North. Early in the second period Christian helped on Bossier-Shreveport's Scott Sheppard's goal that made the score 5-3 in favor of the North. For the game, the SteelHound's Captain finished with two goals (including the game winner), an assist and four shots on goal.

The teams traded the next four goals sending the game to overtime. The decision was settled in a shootout with Christian selected to shoot fourth for the Northern Conference and with the shootout even at a goal apiece the veteran beat Rio Grande Valley's Evan Lindsay giving the North the 2-1 shootout advantage which was good enough for the win.
