Jed Wilson Promoted to Sr. Vice President of Sales & Marketing

The Danbury Whalers are proud to announce that the organization has promoted Jed Wilson to Sr. Vice President of Sales and Marketing.

This will be Jed's 5th season working with the Danbury Whalers and he is the club's longest tenured employee. Jed's role with the club focuses on developing marketing partnerships and the overall branding of the team.

Under Jed, the Danbury Whalers have seen tremendous growth in both the arena and social media marketing. Danbury Whalers President, CFO Alan Friedman commented "From where we started in the first season with grass roots marketing to now the video's that Jed has put together, directed, and shot have been unreal. It has added a whole new dimension and reach for our organization and the marketing partners."

A New Jersey native and University of Florida graduate, Jed is a former middle school teacher who earned a Masters-Degree in History from Western Connecticut State University. In this field, Jed earned a 2002 Teacher of the Year award.

Whalers CEO/Managing Partner, Herm Sorcher stated, "Adding Jed to our organization 5-years ago was a tremendous move for us. He brings so much energy and enthusiasm every single day. His efforts and dedication to his position have developed some very key partnerships for us. This was a promotion that was earned through hard work and effort."

On his promotion, Jed commented:

"I'm proud of what we have accomplished in this organization. We've had a great impact on the community and have brought a ton of awareness to numerous causes. I can say that my promotion and success is directly related to the fact that I work with people who push each other to be the best."

His favorite Danbury Whalers moments:

"Winning a Championship was incredible. To see the fans and players enjoy it the way they did is something I will never forget. From a personal point of view the charitable efforts the team participates in are second to none. I've got to meet and work with some tremendous individuals who are so dedicated to their cause. To give them a platform and assisting them with their message is so rewarding."

On the Business Community:

"We have had such strong support from our local businesses. To meet with an owner, get to know them, and learn about their organizations goals is how we try to be successful every day. Developing a creative marketing and branding program as part of the Danbury Whalers experience is our focus."

Jed resides in New Fairfield with his wife Laura, and his daughter Elle & son Josh. He is softball coach for Elle's team and also is an accomplished fisherman.
