Jaws' Philadelphia Soul Take over Evesham

PHILADELPHIA (May 8, 2012) - The Philadelphia Soul (6-2) will be holding a "Town Takeover" of Evesham Township on Friday, June 1 from 6:30-8:30 p.m. The Town Takeover, presented by Susquehanna Bank, will take place on 101 Route 70 East (at the former Sears Essentials parking lot) and will feature a "run-through" practice by the Philadelphia Soul. This will be the team's last practice before the Soul take on the Orlando Predators (1-7) on Saturday, June 2, with kickoff scheduled for 7:05 p.m. at the Wells Fargo Center
The event will be free to the public. During the practice, random residents will be asked to participate by "running plays" with the Soul team.
"Our organization is about connecting with the community and being accessible to our fans," said Soul Co-Majority Owner Ron Jaworski. "We'd like to thank Mayor Brown and the Town Council for allowing us to host this event and Susquehanna Bank for sponsoring the event and making it possible. We are inviting all of the town's people to join us that night and at our game the following night."
Local Philadelphia Band, Rivers Monroe, will be performing live before and after the practice, there will be face painters and balloon artists, food, drinks and more. In addition to Soul players and coaches, there will be appearances by the Soul mascot, SoulMan, the Soulmates dance team, Soul ownership and front office staff. After the practice, fans will be able to meet Soul players and Soulmates who will be signing autographs.
"This is going to be an exciting night for Evesham Township Residents", said Mayor Randy Brown. "It's not often you get a celebrity like Ron Jaworski or a professional football team like the Philadelphia Soul to come into your neighborhood and be this accessible. It will be a night to remember for our residents."
The Soul game the night after the Town Takeover on Saturday, June 2 will be Evesham Township Night at the Soul. Half of each ticket purchased for the game by Evesham Township residents will be donated to The Award-Winning Evesham Celebrations Foundation. The Soul's next "Town Takeover" will be in South Philly this Thursday, May 10 from 6:30-8 p.m. The Takeover, presented by Susquehanna Bank and hosted by Geno's Steaks, will take place at Capitolo Playground on 9th Street and Federal Street in South Philadelphia (across from Geno's Steaks).
