American Defenders of New Hampshire News Release
(Nashua, NH) - The Nashua Pride announced today that WMUR's Jamie Staton and the Nashua Telegraph's Al McKeon will attend and participate in the team's first tryout camp, to be held tomorrow, April 17th from 10 AM - 2 PM at the Rising Star Sports Complex in Bedford, NH.
A New Hampshire native, Staton has been active in the Granite State Baseball League (Over 30) for the past five years, compiling a .320 batting average and 47 stolen bases in 64 games, including a .388 mark in 2003. A graduate of New York's Ithaca College, he is married to fellow WMUR anchor Jean Mackin.
McKeon, a 34-year old Massachusetts native who now lives in Mont Vernon, has worked for the Telegraph for three years.
"This should be a great experience, but I'm not exactly in top baseball shape," McKeon commented. "Barry Bonds has nothing to fear."
The Nashua Pride is still accepting registrations for the April 17th tryout camp. Manager Butch Hobson and pitching coach Rick Wise will be on hand to evaluate the participants. All interested in taking part should contact the team office at 603-883-2255.
