ALBANY, NY (July 11, 2007) - The Continental Basketball Association today announced that 2006-07 CBA Defensive Player of the Year Jamario Moon has signed a two year contract with the Toronto Raptors of the NBA.

Moon played two seasons with the Albany Patroons and was named the Defensive Player of the Year and to the All-CBA First Team in the 2006-07 season.

Moon finished the 2006-07 season seventh in scoring (18.8), fourth in rebounding (7.8), third in steals (2.0) and second in blocks (2.4). He also ranked fifth in the league in three-point field goal percentage at .401 (73-182) and shot .503 per cent (316-628) from the field.

"Jamario is a unique talent that I was glad to have in Albany when I was with the Patroons," said CBA Acting Commissioner Jim Coyne. "He was able to lead us to the CBA Finals this past year and was a fan favorite for both seasons he was with us. His jumping and scoring ability will be of great benefit to the Raptors. While I am sad to see him leave Albany, I am at the same time happy that he is able to make his dreams come true in the NBA."
