Maine Nordiques News Release
The Maine Nordiques of the North American Hockey League are proud to announce defenseman Jacob Pellerin will be continuing his hockey career in the fall at the University of New England
Pellerin is a native of Windham, New Hampshire and joined the Nordiques as a 2001 birth year player from the Northern Cyclones in his last season of junior hockey eligibility. As soon as the puck dropped on the 2021 season, Jacob was someone the younger players who didn't have as much junior hockey experience could look up to. Jacob is one of only two 2001 birth year D men this season for the Nordiques.
So far in 29 games played Mr. Pellerin has racked up five assists and always has a knack for getting the puck to the net. Jacob is also a stout defender at the blue line coming up with big poke checks and takeaways in key moments. Pellerin is also a workhorse along the walls and beating him in a puck battle is a tall task. When asked about Jacob Pellerin Head coach Matt Pinchevsky said "Jacob has been a complete Pro since day 1 of the season. He is an outstanding student of the game and makes his teammates better everyday. He maximizes every opportunity to get better everyday. We have been very impressed with the way he goes about his business and we know that he will have a positive impact for Coach Swallow and the UNE community and program. We are very proud that Pelly has made his NCAA decision. Congrats to #4 Jacob Pellerin."
Congratulations to Jacob Pellerin on his commitment to UNE!
