Jacksonville Bullies News Release

The Jacksonville Bullies have made sports history by being apart the first ever North American Lacrosse League College Entry Draft. The NALL draft was held yesterday at 7:00pm with the five teams of the league rotating their picks. The Bullies who received the fifth pick in the first round, selected local Jacksonville University standout, Bobby Stockton. Stockton, who is a Ponte Vedra native, played at the University of Maryland-Baltimore County for three years before transferring to JU his senior year. At JU, he finished second on the team with 20 goals and became the second player in program history to earn a spot in the USILA North-South All-Star Game. Head Coach Brian Duncan, who coached Stockton while he was an assistant at JU last season, expressed, "Bobby Stockton will be a fast, physical presence in the middle of the floor for the Bullies. It's great to draft a hometown player with our first pick in franchise history!"

The Bullies spent the rest of the night drafting what www.inlaxwetrust.com claims "the best draft" in the NALL. Stockton was followed by 2011 Stoneybrook captain Thomas Compitello; Drexel standout Scott Perri; Syracuse's all time leader in ground balls, Joel White; Stoneybrook face-off winner Adam Rand; and the 2010 ACC Player of the Year, UNC's Billy Bitter. Team co-owner and General Manager, Chris Milo, spent most of the draft on the phone, waiting anxiously to secure the picks he thought would build a great team. "I am very pleased with our well rounded draft class. The players we have chosen will make an impact on the field right away."

The Jacksonville Bullies will be hosting a Regional Combine for the NALL on Saturday, November 19, 2011, at the GOALS Indoor Facility in Ponte Vedra, from 3:00pm to 9:00pm. Free agents looking to be picked by a NALL team are required to register on the NALL website, www.NorthAmericanLacrosseLeague.com, in order to attend. Coaches and General Managers from all the NALL teams will be present at this open tryout. This tryout is open to the public to come out and see the excitement this new league and team will be bringing to the Veterans Memorial Arena in January 2012.
