AMARILLO, TX - The start was exactly what Odessa wanted. Lots of shots, races and battles won along the boards, even an early power play to start off. But the Jacks couldn't find the back of the net and ended up falling to the Amarillo Bulls by a score of 3-0 at the Budweiser Bull Pen on Saturday night.

The Jackalopes start was buoyed by a power play less than a minute into the game. The Jackalopes had great chances in front but were stymied by Amarillo goalie Andrew Takacs. Despite sending 16 shots on net, the Jacks found themselves tied at zero after the first 20 minutes.

The inability to score would end up costing the Jacks as they surrendered the games first goal on a goalmouth scramble while Amarillo was on the power play. Down 1-0 going into the second, the Jackalopes looked to tie the game up and build off thier four consecutive strong third periods previously. But the Bulls had other ideas.

A turnover at the Jackalopes' blue line wound up in the back of the net as Connor Hasley was beaten on a clean shot for the first and only time that evening. Up until that point, Hasley was on his game, making key stops and tracking the puck well. Amarillo's second goal was the only one that seemingly hand-cuffed him.

Odessa had a few other chances late in the third period, but for the most part, the Amarillo defense buckled down, and did a strong job in blocking shots, not allowing Odessa to generate a serious offensive push like they had in the first period.

An empty net goal in the final two minutes for Amarillo sealed a 3-0 victory for the Bulls as the Jackalopes head back home with two losses that easily could've been wins.

Odessa finished scoreless on five power-play chances while the Penalty kill surrendered just one power-play goal in four tries for Amarillo. The Jackalopes ended up out-shooting Amarillo on the first time on the road 28-23.

The Jackalopes will next welcome the Wichita Falls Warriors for the second-to-last scheduled home weekend of the season on Friday and Saturday April 2 and 3.
