Odessa Jackalopes News Release

Last night the Jacks faced the Warriors for game two of the weekend series. Odessa entered the game in third place and two points behind second-place Lone Star. Wichita Falls was in fifth place and only one point behind fourth-place Amarillo. Yesterday's game also marked the fourth-straight game between the Jacks and Warriors.

Wichita Falls had two early power plays in the opening period but the Jacks penalty-killing units stood tall. As did Noah Rupprecht, who for the first time this season was starting in back-to-back games. As for the Warriors, they went with Brandon Milberg between the pipes. While both teams had their scoring opportunities, the first period ended 0-0. With Wichita Falls leading in shots, 13-8.

In the middle period is when the scoreless game was finally broken. Ryan Kusler (5) beat Milberg at the 12:12 mark of the second period. However, the Warriors would go on to score three-straight goals in the span of 3:06. Goals were scored by Adisen Brueck (3), Brendan Williams (5), and Riley Brueck (15). The Warriors took a 3-1 lead into the locker room after 40 minutes of play. The Warriors were outshooting the Jacks, 30-26.

The Jacks were doing everything they could in the final period, but Milberg had an answer for all 12 of their shots. The Warriors put up two more goals in the third before the final horn sounded. The Warriors' first goal was scored by Owen Baumgartner (7) and their fifth was an empty-net goal from Riley Brueck (16). Even with the Warriors having their fewest shots in a period (9), they still outshot Odessa, 39-38. Wichita Falls went 0/2 on the power play and Odessa went 0/1.

The Jacks are back at the Ector County Coliseum this Thursday-Saturday as they will have their third 3-in-3 of the season. The Thursday game is against the Lone Star Brahmas and the other two games are against Corpus Christi. Puck drop for all three games is at 7:15 pm CDT.
