ODESSA, TX - You could say it was deja vu for the Jackalopes on Saturday night. Two goals were scored in short order in the third to the a game 2-2, and the Wichita Warriors again flexed thier overtime prowess and again, the Jackalopes fell in overtime by a score of 3-2 at the Ector County Coliseum on Saturday night.

The contest started off well for the Jackalopes as the sent plenty of pucks and bodies tward the net, they were eventually rewarded by a greasy goal on the doorstep as Gabe Bennett was able to stuff the puck into the back of the net to put Odessa up 1-0.

In the second period the Jackalopes continued to out-play the Warriors as they got all kinds of great chances in front of the net, but Bartoszkiewicz was square to the task in robbing the Jackalopes at nearly every opportunity.

But Odessa kept pressing the attack in the second period and eventually found the back of the net. Joey Musa received a cross-ice pass from the right side that hit in in stride on the left face-off circle. Musa took another stride before the rifled a shot in past the Wichita Falls netminder and into the back of the net. Musa's second in as many nights put Odessa up 2-0 going into the third period.

In the third, the Jackalopes successfully killed off several penalties against, and as the game wound down the the critical few minutes, the Jackalopes looked to be on the verge of securing thier final win on home ice. But a missed opportunity to score on the empty net turned into a Wichita Falls rush up ice. The Warriors were able to score on a net-mouth scramble in front, before scoring again on a point shot less than 30 seconds later.

Once again, the Jackalopes went to overtime in a tied 2-2 game. The Jackalopes had a brief power play to start overtime but failed to score on the chances they received. Instead it was Odessa getting called for too-many-men on the ice that opened the door for the Warriors. As the four-on-three advantage came close to expiring, another net-mouth scramble saw William Lawson-Body shoot a rebound into the back of the net to secure the second straight victory in overtime for Wichita Falls and thier sixth on the season.

The Jackalopes suffered thier second straight overtime loss at home and fourth on the season. Though there were positives to take away from the game. Odessa dominated for most the evening and had it not been for the heroics of the Wichita Falls netminder, Odessa could've very easily had scored two or even three goals in the second period instead of the one they got from Musa's shot. Joey Musa continued to be an offensive spark-plug with his seventh point in the last eight games. He will be relied upon down the stretch as the Jackalopes embark on five road games to close out the final two weeks of the season.
