Odessa Jackalopes News Release
CORPUS CHRISTI, TX - Much like last weekend the Jackalopes had great chances to score, great opportunities to put the puck in the net. But, much like last week they were unable to light the lamp and suffered their fourth straight loss to the Corpus Christi IceRays after falling 2-0 to Corpus at the American Bank Center on Thursday night.
After a scoreless first period the IceRays cashed in on two goals by Erik Bargholtz to give Corpus Christi a 2-0 lead. The Jacks had multiple chances, especially in the third period, but Cal Sandquist made save after save after save to keep Odessa off the board.
The Jackalopes had nine power plays and over 30 shots on goal but failed to convert. While the Jackalopes' defensive prowess is beyond a doubt the offensive challenges continue. The Jacks have gone over 218 minutes without a goal but are determined to end the skid tomorrow evening. Puck-drop for game two of the three-game series between the Jackalopes and the IceRays takes place at 7:05 pm on Friday night.
