
Jérémie Blain suspended for inappropriate comments

BOUCHERVILLE, Monday December 5th 2011 - The Quebec Major Junior Hockey League Disciplinary Prefect, Raymond Bolduc, today suspended Acadie-Bathurst Titan defenseman Jérémie Blain for two games for inappropriate comments which were directed towards Jonathan Racine of the Shawinigan Cataractes during last Friday's game.
Moreover, the organization has been fined $500. Finally, a formal apology will be extended to Jonathan Racine from Jérémie Blain.
"The Quebec Major Junior Hockey League created an antidiscrimination policy in December of 2006 in order to ban all forms of discrimination," said League Commissioner Gilles Courteau. "Our policy is based on the principle of zero tolerance and it applies to all comments which are deemed inappropriate. All of our participants must be treated with respect and dignity."
