Penn FC News Release

Harrisburg - The Harrisburg City Islanders will once again be playing in hostile territory when they travel to Legion Stadium to take on the Wilmington Hammerheads this Saturday, May 2 at 7 p.m.

It will be the second straight road game for the Islanders. They were able to pick up their first point on the road in Charlotte, but are still searching for their first road win.

Harrisburg was able to get this long road stint off to a great start when they managed a 1-1 draw against Charlotte Indepedence. Rookie, Dante Leverock, was able to get his first goal of the season in the match and Nick Noble had four saves on five shots for the night.

Wilmington and Harrisburg met twice last year and played to a scoreless draw in both matches. The second meeting was a hard fought match that featured over 30 fouls between the two teams, along with seven yellow cards.

The Islanders have been able to sure up their defense recently after giving up seven goals in the first two games. However, they will need to continue stay strong again this weekend against Wilmington who has scored seven goals on the season and their Nick Zimmerman has been one of the early season elite scorers with three goals.

The Hammerheads have only won one game this season, but have played a tough schedule early on. They have already played Richmond twice, drawing once and getting shutout in the other.

Harrisburg will close their road trip Saturday, May 9 against New York Red Bulls at 7 p.m. and return to Skyline Sports Complex Saturday, May 16 to face Charlotte Independence at 7 p.m. For more information about the Harrisburg City Islanders please contact (717)-441-GOAL (4625) or visit cityislanders.com
