Penn FC News Release

Harrisburg, PA - The Islanders are pleased to announce Susquehanna Capital Corp. as the newest investors in the City Islanders.

Incorporated in 2009, Susquehanna Capital Corp. is a stock holding company comprising investments in property and casualty insurance companies. The company retains the outstanding stock of Tuscarora Wayne Insurance Company, established 1874 and Lebanon Valley Insurance Company, established 1856.

"We have been working diligently with the United Soccer League and we look forward to announcing the exciting plans for the City Islanders 2016 Season," affirmed Islanders majority owner Eric Pettis. "Increasing the investment of the franchise in order to continue to be relevant in this league is the direction the organization is headed."

With the addition of Susquehanna Capital Corp., the Harrisburg City Islanders are now controlled by majority owner Eric Pettis (Harrisburg), Bryan Gobin (Carlisle), Chuck Fox (Elizabethtown), and Brian Bolinger, treasurer of Susquehanna Capital Corp.

"Susquehanna Capital Corp., located Wyalusing, Pennsylvania, is delighted to be working alongside our business partners in promoting the City Islanders organization to the next level," said Brian Bolinger. "We are excited by the Islander's commitment to local areas youth programs and its plans to expand youth soccer on a much broader scale."

The Harrisburg City Islanders youth development initiative has always been one the owners, staff, players, and coaches are passionate about. In 2015 the club reached a milestone thanks to more than 1,500 area youth players participating in our Academy programs. These year-round programs include our Academy Summer Teams, Summer Camps, Indoor Training, and multiple tournaments.

In addition to the Harrisburg City Islanders youth development initiatives the Islanders Professional team has been in existence for 12 seasons; competing in three United Soccer League Championships, winning one in 2007. The newest investment by Susquehanna Capital Corp. will give the Islanders organization the ability to enhance operations on and off the field, as well as allow for improvements in the overall fan experience.

The Islanders have been working tirelessly in their efforts to secure a new stadium for the club. By applying for grant funding through Redevelopment Assistance Capital Program (RACP), which is administered by the Office of the Budget under Governor Tom Wolf, the Islanders have been committed to making the stadium project a reality. The $5 million grant application is currently waiting approval.

New ownership is just one of many steps in the expansion of a club that has cemented its legacy over the past twelve seasons in Central Pennsylvania and beyond, through predominance in the growing United Soccer League. The Islanders have several new and exciting plans for the 2016 which will be unveiled in the upcoming weeks.
