Charlotte Eagles News Release

The United Soccer Leagues announced the Pro Soccer League "Team of the Week" for week 14. Charlotte Eagles midfielder Ishmael Mintah earned team of the week honors for the second time this season, along with Jacob Coggins in his fourth week on the "Team of the Week" list this season.

Ishmael Mintah is a native of Ghana, in his first season with the Charlotte Eagles. Mintah was drafted by the LA Galaxy and played with the Sioux Falls PDL team before joining the Eagles. The Creighton University graduate earned Team of the Week in week 14 for his two goal performance in the Eagles 3-2 win over the Westchester Flames on Saturday night. It was Mintah's second time to earn Team of the Week honors this season. The last time was also with Jacob Coggins back in week one for his assist in the 3-0 win over Pittsburgh.

Jacob Coggins has been a bit of a home town hero for the Eagles this season. The Independence High School graduate leads the league in points with 34, and is tied for first in goals with 13. Coggins is also tied with team mate Dustin Swinehart in assists with 8 each. This is the fourth time for Jacob to be on the Team of the Week list this season. He earned it in week 14 for his goal and assist to lead the offense in the Eagles 4-2 win against the Carolina Dynamo on July 14th. Jacob also earned Team of the Week honors for weeks one, four, and five.
