Lehigh Valley IronPigs News Release
(Allentown, Pa.) -- The second game of a doubleheader between the Lehigh Valley IronPigs and Buffalo Bisons at Coca-Cola Park on Tuesday has been postponed due to rain. The game has been rescheduled as part of a doubleheader beginning at 5:35 p.m. on Wednesday, May 6, at Coca-Cola Park. Both contests are scheduled for seven innings and only one ticket is needed for admission to both games.
Due to the postponement, fans holding tickets to Tuesday's doubleheader can exchange each ticket for a ticket of equal or lesser value to any remaining 2009 home game. All ticket exchanges must be made in-person at the Coca-Cola Park Ticket Office (no phone or internet exchanges). Ticket exchanges are subject to availability.
Wednesday's doubleheader begins at 5:35 p.m. and all gates open at 4:30 p.m. The first 3,500 fans attending Wednesday's doubleheader will receive "Golf Ball" Logo Baseballs presented by Allentown Municipal Golf Course. Japan Night, which was originally scheduled for Monday but postponed due to rain, has also been rescheduled for Wednesday.
In the opening game of the twin bill on Tuesday, RHP Justin Lehr tossed his first career shutout, allowing just three hits en route to an IronPigs 3-0 victory. The victory snapped the IronPigs mini two-game losing streak and improved the team to 11-13 on the year. Buffalo fell to a league-worst 4-19 in defeat.
The pitching probables for the doubleheader are as follows:
Game 1: RHP Kyle Kendrick (2-1, 2.77) vs. RHP Tim Redding (0-0, 0.00) for Buffalo
Game 2: RHP Carlos Carrasco (0-2, 4.50) vs. RHP Kyle Snyder (0-2, 5.06) for Buffalo
Tickets for all upcoming games at Coca-Cola Park can be purchased in-person at Coca-Cola Park, by calling (610) 841-PIGS or online at ironpigsbaseball.com. Prices for single-game tickets remain identical to 2008 and start as low as $6 for General Admission, granting fans access to the Capital BlueCross Lawn seating area and standing room only areas. Field Level reserved seats are just $9.
Fans are reminded that there are three entry points for parking and are encouraged to use the Dauphin Street entrance when traveling from downtown Allentown. In addition to the Dauphin Street entrance, entry to Coca-Cola Park can be gained off American Parkway and Union Boulevard. Preferred/Handicapped Parking access is available via American Parkway only.
The cost of parking for all IronPigs home games is $3 per vehicle.
The 2009 IronPigs season is presented by Capital BlueCross.
