Ironmen Prepare for a Busy Day in the Community

Newark, N.J. (Thursday, May 28, 2009) - Staying true to their focus on making a positive contribution to the community that they represent, the New Jersey Ironmen will be quite visible this Saturday. Following an appearance at the Morris Habitat for Humanity 11th Annual Bike and Hike in Morris Township, a team comprised of Ironmen players, dancers, staff and IronDog will make their way to the Thomas Jefferson Environment Awareness Day and the Lincoln Park Spring Soccer Classic.
"The root of our success as a team and organization is within the community that supports us, and we are more than happy to show our appreciation by supporting them in return," Ironmen defender Oral Bullen commented. "We consider it to be our duty as professional players to make a positive impact within the community, and that is why it is so easy to find us out lending a hand to the region we represent."
Starting up at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday, the 11th Annual Bike and Hike serves as one of the largest fundraisers for the Morris Habitat for Humanity. The starting point for the Bike and Hike is at Loantaka Park on South Street in Morristown, and participants have a variety of options as to how they will complete the trip, from a 5-mile hike through Loantaka Park all the way to a 35-mile bike ride. In addition to having members of the Ironmen Dancers, team mascot, IronDog, and the Spirit of Newark player intro inflatable on hand, Bullen and 2008-09 All-XSL First Team forward Adauto Neto will host a soccer clinic for all of the kids in attendance.
After wrapping up there, the Ironmen are headed to Thomas Jefferson School at 101 James Street in Morristown to participate in their Environment Awareness Day, beginning at 11:30 a.m. Dancers, IronDog and the Spirit of Newark will all be on hand with Brazilian goalkeeper Lé and Neto available for pictures and autographs. The day still does not end there, as the Ironmen next head to the Spring Soccer Classic at Lanes Field in Lincoln Park. Polish defender David Topoloski and Serbian striker Nebo Stamenkovic will be conducting a special soccer clinic for all of the kids in attendance.
On tap for this summer, the 2009 Ironmen soccer camp program will kick off in late June and run through the end of August, and the Ironmen have a special website created for their camp programs, located at www.njironmen.com/camps. The camp website offers information and the summer schedule, as well as the convenience of completing the entire registration process online. All campers this summer will receive an Ironmen ball, t-shirt and two tickets to our 2009 home opener this fall, and camps are open to all types of skill levels and players age 4-16. As a special incentive, all campers that register prior to June 15th will now receive an immediate $5 discount and an Ironmen water bottle, while supplies last. Any clubs or townships that are interested in hosting a camp still have the opportunity to do so, and they can call the Ironmen camp hotline at 973-757-6323 to discuss the details further.
Training is also available for travel clubs this summer with commitments of at least 10 campers. The cost for each camper is $129, and each training session will be conducted for two hours a day over a period of five concurrent days. The age of campers can range from 8-16, and each participant will receive an Ironmen camp t-shirt. Teams must provide the field, water and balls for the training sessions, and the Ironmen will always have at least one professional player on location for every day of the camp. The Ironmen have now opened the sale of 2009-10 season tickets, and all seating sections are now available for submittal of a $50 deposit.
