The Iowa Cubs extended their win streak to four games with a 4-2 win over the Memphis Redbirds Saturday night at Principal Park. The Cubs took an early 3-1 lead in the first inning when Jake Fox launched a three-run homer to score Andres Torres and Casey McGehee. Memphis made it a 2-3 game in the fifth inning when Matt Johnson singled and scored on an Iowa error. Andres Blanco made the highlight-reel play of the night in the eighth inning. With Neal Cotts pitching, Redbird D'Angelo Jimenez hit a liner up the middle that hit Cotts' glove and bounced off second base before Blanco bear-handed it and threw to Fox at first base for the out. Torres extended his hit streak to 12 games and Josh Kroeger homered in the sixth inning for the 4-2 final. Iowa will go for their first sweep of the season tomorrow when they meet the Memphis Redbirds for a 1:05 p.m. start at Principal Park.
