DES MOINES, IA - The Iowa Wild (2-3-0-0, 4 points) defeated the Manitoba Moose (2-3-0-0, 4 points) 3-2 in front of 4,642 fans on Friday night at Wells Fargo Arena. Wild forward Colton Beck scored the game-winning goal with just under six minutes remaining in regulation to propel Iowa past Manitoba. Rookie forward Evan Janssen picked up a multi-point game with his first pro goal and added an assist. Wild goaltender Niklas Svedberg (2-3-0) stopped 26 of 28 shots and forward Kyle Rau also scored in the win. Moose goaltender Eric Comrie (1-2-0) stopped 27 of 30 shots in the defeat. Forwards Jack Roslovic and Mike Sgarbossa each scored a goal for the Moose in the loss. Iowa and Manitoba faceoff again Saturday at 7 p.m.

Manitoba forward Jack Roslovic opened the scoring late in first period at 19:47. Forward Mason Appleton set up Roslovic's third goal of the season. Appleton centered the puck from the right-wing side and Roslovic tipped the shot past Svedberg for a 1-0 lead.

Wild forward Evan Janssen scored his first pro goal at 3:09 of the middle frame, tying the game 1-1. Forward Chase Lang assisted the goal by poking the puck away from a Moose defender to Janssen. The Wild rookie snapped a wrist shot to beat Comrie on the stick side. At 11:37 of the second period, forward Kyle Rau gave Iowa a 2-1 lead. His first goal of the season was set up by forwards Justin Kloos and defenseman Ryan Murphy on the power play. Kloos passed the puck from the left-wing circle to Rau in the slot whose shot slid under the left pad of Comrie. Moose forward Mike Sgarbossa tied the game 2-2 at 15:35 of the second period. Defensemen Sami Niku and Julian Melchiori assisted his third goal of the year. Sgarbossa beat Svedberg on the glove side.

At 14:08 of the third period, forward Colton Beck scored the game-winning goal for Iowa. His third goal of the season was set up by Christoph Bertschy and Janssen. Beck shot the puck between the legs of Comrie to make it a 3-2 final score.

Iowa and Manitoba faceoff again on Saturday, Oct. 21 at 7 p.m. at Wells Fargo Arena. There is a pregame tailgate party, showcasing the local concert series performance. Decoy performs from 5:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. on the South Side Patio. In case of inclement weather, the show will be moved inside.

Fans may purchase two tallboys for $10 for the local concert series. The Brewdog pack is also available for purchase at the game.

The Wild hosts the IceHogs in Des Moines on Wednesday, Oct. 25 at 7 p.m. It is Wine Wednesday with $2 off Barefoot refresh presented by Barefoot Wine.

After a pair of road games in Tucson, Iowa returns home to meet the San Antonio Rampage on Thursday, Nov. 2 at 7 p.m. Dollar dog night with $1 hotdogs, $1 pretzels and $1 small popcorn is presented by LAZER 100.3 . Trivia night takes place in "The Fort," previously known as the River's Edge Restaurant, before the game.
