Rockford Thunder News Release

Hello Rockford fans!!! I'm so excited about joining the team and look forward to May when I can come to Rockford and play some ball!! Here is just a little bit of what I have been up to.

After last season I took my first coaching job at South Dakota State University. So I drove from Boston to Oklahoma and 24 hours later I was loaded up and departing for Brookings, SD.

I receive so many questions about South Dakota. Here are just a few questions: Why South Dakota? Its a young Division I program where I thought would be a great starting point for my coaching career. Plus I am continuing my education with a master in Sports Pedagogy. What is the weather like? Yes, it gets cold. The coldest its been since I've been here is -21 degrees. Yes, I said negative 21. Its snows a lot more than I am use to. But at the same time it does get nice. Have I seen Mt. Rushmore? No. I live in Brookings, SD which is on the Southeast corner of the state and Rapid City, where Mt. Rushmore is located, is about 5 hours from here. I do plan on visiting when I can find some time. Have I been to Sturgis Motorcycle Rally? No. I hear it is a site to see. Plus its 6 hours away and I don't own a motorcycle.

Many people do not realize how big of a state South Dakota is. Where I live, it is a flat plains area and on the other side of the state there are mountains and a lot more snow.

I started training a while back. I play here and there with my team here at SDSU. During the fall I conditioned with them and I had a blast. There is nothing like pushing other athletes. I can't wait to meet up the Thunder.

Until then take care and God Bless!
