International Pitching Standout Dagmar Bloeming Signs with Pennsylvania Rebellion

Washington,PA-February 19, 2015-The Pennsylvania Rebellion announced they have signed Dutch National Team pitcher Dagmar Bloeming to a National Pro Fastpitch League (NPF) contract. Bloeming is the fourth member from the Netherlands National Team to join the Rebellion for the 2015 season; others include Pennsylvania Head Coach Craig Montvidas, Rebellion pitching coach Karen Marr and third baseman Virginie Anneveld.

In 2012, Bloeming was awarded the Netherlands Best Pitcher honor for remaining unbeaten (16-0) in the regular season. She remained atop the league with a 0.63 ERA and held opponents to just a .151 batting average in 100 2/3 innings. In 2014, Dagmar was named Best Pitcher for the second time in her career. She remained undefeated again, 15-0, and compiled a league-leading 0.52 ERA and finished in second place with 99 strikeouts.

Bloeming was born and raised in Amsterdam. Prior to joining the Dutch National ranks in 2002, she competed with the Almere 90 (1994-2006) Terrasvogels (Santpoort, 2007-2008) DES Caserta (Caserta, Italy, 2013) and is still playing with the Sparks Haarlem (Haarlem, 2009-2012; current) and the Dutch Major League (2007-2012; current).

In 2002, Bloeming debuted for the Dutch National Junior Team in the European Championships held in France. The following year, she was awarded the Riet Vermaat Trophy by the Dutch Federation for the best under-19 youth pitcher. After five seasons with the Dutch National Junior Team (2002-2006), Bloeming landed a roster spot on the Dutch National Team in 2007.

For the past eight years, Bloeming and The Orange have captured three European Championship titles and have participated in international tournaments all over Europe and North America. At the conclusion of the 2011 European Championships in Italy, she was named Best Pitcher of the European Championship.

"Dagmar is a dynamic young woman, and is dedicated to being the best she can be. She is an extremely hard worker, with a sense of humor that is contagious. She is a player/person who is very team oriented," Rebellion Head Coach Craig Montvidas said. "I have coached her for the past six seasons; and she gives 100%, all the time."
