(DANVILLE, IL) - Coming to a Danville Dans game has been a great experience for the last 28 years. And much of that successful fan experience is due to the talents and enthusiasm of the team's summer interns.

The Dans are currently accepting intern applications for the 2016 team of interns - affectionately known as Danterns! This group of college-age staff members handles all aspects of a Dans games - from pre-game set-up to on-field contests, sponsor relations to working in the press box.

Previous Danterns have used this experience to propel them in their careers during or after college, such as:

Staff member with the South Bend Cubs minor league baseball team.

A staff member with IMG collegiate sports media company at Duke University.

Sports editor of SIU student newspaper.

Summer intern with the Daytona Tortugas, a Class-A affiliate of the Cincinnati Reds.

The Dans are members of the summer collegiate Prospect League and play 30 home games from late May - August. The internship runs from May 28 to August 14. This is an unpaid internship. Danterns may receive a taxable stipend. Housing is not provided. All Danterns are encouraged to receive college credit for the internship and/or be directly supervised by a professor or advisor from their accredited academic degree program at a university, college or vocational institution during the time of the internship.

Danterns will handle all aspects of game-day operations, such as ticket sales, fan experience, media contacts, and much more. Interns can also focus on tasks related to your major or career goals, such as marketing, sales, sports management and journalism.
