New York Red Bulls II News Release
New York Red Bulls II host Rio Grande Valley FC for the first time on Friday night at MSU Soccer Park. Five first team players will be part of the group for Red Bulls II, including midfielder Jesús Castellano, who will be making his debut.
Goalkeeper AJ Marcucci will make his fifth start of the season in net for Red Bulls II.
The back line will feature three starters from the club's last match, as Jason Pendant, Juan Castillo, and O'Vonte Mullings will be joined by Lamine Conte. Castillo will make his team-leading sixth start of the campaign.
Steven Sserwadda will get the start in the defensive midfield along with Daniel Edelman, who will be making his season debut with Red Bulls II.
Castellano will be joined by Jeremy Rafanello, who will look to continue the momentum from his first goal of 2022 against FC Tulsa on April 2.
Up front, Jordan Adebayo-Smith will be making his fifth start of the season. He is joined by Zach Ryan, who has started every home match for New York this season.
The bench features Derrek Chan as the backup goalkeeper along with three defenders in JC Cortez, Christopher Cragwell, and Daniel De Leon. Three midfielders, Michael Knapp, Sam Williams, and John Murphy, round out the group.
Kickoff is set for 7:00 p.m. ET, with coverage on ESPN+.
