
Ingram, Dutton, Carter Earn First Weekly Honors

NEW YORK - Los Angeles Avengers WR/DB KEVIN INGRAM, Colorado Crush QB JOHN DUTTON and Nashville Kats FB/LB FRANK CARTER have been named Ironman, Offensive Player and ADT Defensive Player of the Week, respectively, for Week 1 of the 2006 season.
IRONMAN: Ingram (6-0, 185, West Chester), who is in his sixth AFL season, helped lead the Los Angeles Avengers (1-0) to a 40-31 win over the Arizona Rattlers (0-1) on Sunday. Ingram paced the Avengers with seven catches for 126 yards and a touchdown on offense and added 2.5 tackles and an interception on the defensive side of the ball. Ingram was named Ironman of the Game six times in 2005 and five times in 2004 and also is the defending Ironman of the Year.
OFFENSIVE: Dutton (6-4, 225, Nevada), who is in his seventh AFL season, led the defending ArenaBowl champion Crush to a 65-56 win over Chicago (0-1) in Colorado's first game of its title defense. Dutton threw for 291 yards and week-one-high eight touchdown passes including the game-winner to DAMIAN HARRELL with just one second remaining on the clock. Dutton also rushed for a touchdown.
ADT DEFENSIVE: Carter (6-2, 260, MacMurray College), who is in his fifth season, helped lead the Kats (1-0) to a 57-28 victory over the New York Dragons (0-1) in an interconference showdown on Sunday. Carter recorded 5.5 total tackles and a week-one best 4.0 sacks which tied for the third highest single-game total in AFL history. Carter, an All-Arena selection last year, spent the past three seasons with Las Vegas.
Ironman of the Week candidates included: Colorado's Willis Marshall, Dallas' Will Pettis, Grand Rapids' Josh Bush, New York's DeShane Dennis, Philadelphia's Mike Brown and Utah's Orshawante Bryant.
Offensive Player of the Week candidates included: Chicago's Matt D'Orazio, Colorado's Damian Harrell, Columbus' Thabiti Davis, Dallas' Clint Dolezel, Georgia's Chris Jackson, Nashville's T.T. Toliver and Utah's Joe Germaine.
ADT Defensive Player of the Week candidates included: Austin's Damon Mason, Dallas' Hamin Milligan, Grand Rapids' Johnnie Harris, Nashville's Monty Montgomery and Utah's Kelvin Hunter.
