After suffering their first loss of the 2010 season in Week Four, the Outlaws spent two consecutive bye weeks with a bitter taste in their mouths. Defensive Player of the Week: DB Montavis Pitts, Tri-Cities Fever
Last Saturday was a memorable day in the history of the Fever franchise as the team won its first ever game in the IFL. The Fever defeated the visiting Fairbanks Grizzlies 44-39 to earn that illusive first victory. Montavis Pitts played a big part in the win as he was a ball hawk in the secondary of the Fever defense. Pitts turned in a outstanding performance, tallying 9.5 tackles and intercepting two passes, one of which he returned 47 yards for the go ahead TD late in the 3rd quarter. The Fever will look to make it back to back wins against Pacific North opponents when they travel to play the Kent Predators in Week Eight.
Special Teams Player of the Week: KR Dre'Mail Hardin, Kent Predators
Dre'Mail Hardin becomes the second Kent Predator to take home Special Teams Player of the Week honors this season (Week One KR Jarvious Dunn). Trailing 54-53 with eight seconds left in the game, Hardin returned the ensuing kickoff 54 yards for the game winning TD, sealing the Predators first home victory in franchise history, 59-54.
