MUSKETEERS EDGE COMEBACK KIDS: The Indiana Ice rallied back from a two-goal deficit twice in their weekend series against Sioux City before ultimately falling to the Musketeers on both occasions by the score of 3-2. Friday: The Ice found themselves in a two-goal hole early as Sioux City struck quickly in the opening period. Goals by Mike Phillippi and Mike Del Mauro knotted the game at 2-2 late in the third, ultimately forcing a shootout. After nine rounds of solid goaltending from Ice netminder Alex Kangas and Sioux City's Jerry Kuhn, the Musketeers sealed the victory as Eddie Olczyk found the back of the net. Kangas finished the game with 31 saves. Saturday: The rematch proved to be a replay of the night before as the Ice again fell behind by two goals in the early going. Indiana fought their way back to tie the affair at 2-2 with goals from Pat Kenney and Brett Peterson before surrendering another goal in the final stanza that held up to be the Musketeer game-winner. Kangas had 28 saves in defeat.

'PHLIP' ON FIRE: Defenseman Mike Phillippi's goal in Friday's contest and assist on Saturday kept his scoring streak alive as he has scored at least one point in all seven games this season. His two-point weekend tied ex-Ice blueliner Eddie Del Grosso's record of seven games as the longest point streak for an Ice defenseman.

STORM SURGE: Tri-City visits the Circle City looking for revenge after dropping all five contests to the Ice last season. Indiana outscored the Storm 13-5 and recorded three of their five all-time shutouts in the process. John Kemp led the Ice in scoring last year with six points (G, 5A), while Cody Reichard was strong in net with a 3-0-0 record, 1.59 GAA and .944 save percentage.

ICE NOTES: Friday night's nine-round shootout was the longest in Ice history.... Garrett Roe and John Kemp watched their point streaks end at six games on Saturday.... Kemp's six and Roe's five game assist streak set a record for the two longest assist streaks in Ice history....Roe is tied for second in USHL scoring with 13 points (4G, 9A)....Brett Peterson has points in the last three games....The Ice failed to score a power play goal for the first time this season in Saturday's loss.

ALUMNI WAVES: Michigan State's Jay Sprague scored a goal in a 5-3 victory over St. Lawrence and registered two assists in a 7-5 win against Sacred Heart.... Nebraska Omaha's Eddie Del Grosso scored his first collegiate goal in a 7-5 win over Western Michigan and added two assists the following evening in a 6-0 win....Bowling Green's Kyle Page recorded an assist and finished +2 in a 4-3 loss to Miami (OH).
