In It to Win It; Toros Looking for Road Win against Real Monarchs

EDINBURG, Texas - Rio Grande Valley FC (11-11-8; 41 pts.) travels to Herriman, Utah to take on the Real Monarchs SLC (5-18-7; 22 pts.) at Zions Bank Stadium on Wednesday, October 27 at 8:00 p.m. CST.

RGV FC: Last Saturday at H-E-B Park the Toros defeated New Mexico United 2-0 to keep their playoff run alive. Toros grasped the lead in the 47th minute with a goal from Rodrigo Lopez. Christian Sorto connected with Lopez to give the team a 1-0 lead. In the 58th Sorto sent a headed ball to Kyle Edwards. Edwards then sent the ball to the bottom left corner to keep the Toros alive. RGV FC finished the game with 18 total shots, six on target while New Mexico United totaled five shots with one on target. Ycaza tallied four shots, with two on target and two key passes. Sorto had five key passes and two assists for the night.

SLC: In a weekend matchup Real Monarchs SLC drew 1-1 to Colorado Springs Switchbacks FC. Kyle Adams was responsible for putting Real Monarchs up on the scoreboard in the 47th minute. Adams took a left footed shot from the left side of the six-yard box to the high center of the goal. In the 90+ minute Andrew Lewis equalized the match with a header from the center of the box to the top right corner. Real Monarchs finished the game with 11 total shots, six on target while Colorado Springs totaled 28 shots with 10 on target. Max Mata tallied four total shots, four on target. Milan Iloski totaled five shots, one on target and created two chances.
