Important Update on 2014 Charlotte Eagles Season
January 15, 2014 - United Soccer League Championship (USL)
Charlotte Eagles News Release
Dear Charlotte Eagles Fans,
We are excited about the approach of the 2014 seasons for both our men's and women's teams! This will be the 22nd season for the Charlotte Eagles men's team and the 15th season for the Lady Eagles. We are so grateful for the support that we have received from fans, sponsors, volunteers, donors, and host families. We wouldn't exist without all of you!
We want to provide you with some information regarding a tweet about the potential sale of the Charlotte Eagles USL PRO franchise. First of all, the Charlotte Eagles Soccer Club is not for sale. We have concluded an agreement with a local ownership group to acquire the exclusive option to purchase our USL PRO franchise at the end of the 2014 season. We are working closely with this ownership group to address several considerations that need to be resolved prior to the exercise of the option. There are a number of exciting aspects to this relationship that we look forward to communicating in the near future.
Our commitment to our mission and to serving the greater Charlotte area has not changed and will not, even if the level at which we play does. We intend to continue to operate high level Eagles men's and women's teams as we pursue our mission of transforming lives through camps, international tours and our Urban Eagles program.
We have much more to share about our plans for the future as we pursue our Strategic Direction. We look forward to your continued support and another great season!
Sincerely,
Patrick Stewart
