Montreal Impact News Release

MONTREAL - The Montreal Impact received final approval to hold the first quarterfinal series game of the CONCACAF Champions League against Mexican club Santos Laguna, Wednesday at 8 pm, at Olympic Stadium.

The system enabling the snow to melt on the white roof of the stadium has been effective. Snow precipitations on Sunday and Monday have gradually melted and there is currently no accumulation on the textile roof. The official from the joint committee, formed by the Montreal Fire Department Service and the Régie du bâtiment du Québec, has authorized that the game be held on schedule. The general situation, including the weather forecast, is favourable to hold the event as planned.

"We are thrilled that the game will be played as expected, Wednesday evening," said Impact Executive Vice President Richard Legendre. "These are excellent news for soccer fans who have showed enthusiasm in great numbers for this historical game. We invite our supporters to wear blue and to show up at the stadium at 7:15 pm to show their support and greet our players during the warm-up."

The Montreal organization has surpassed the 50,000 ticket sold mark, Wednesday afternoon, improving the new club and CONCACAF records.
