Montreal Impact News Release
FIESOLE, Italy - The Montreal Impact plays Thursday its fifth and last preseason game in Italy against fourth division Italian club AC Prato (Serie C2), at Lungo Bisenzio Stadium, at 3 pm (9 am, Eastern Time).
The Montreal club will try to stay undefeated since its arrival in Italy. The Impact has not lost in its first four preseason games on Italian soil, with a record of two wins and two ties. Since the beginning of training camp, January 7, the Impact has a 5-0-2 record.
"This is our last game so we want to end camp on a positive note before our game against Santos Laguna," said defender Adam Braz. "Up to now, we have offered good performances. Our preseason games have been excellent preparation for us. It was a great occasion for all players to prove they have their place on the starting lineup and among the 18-player roster."
Note that for the last game in Italy, goalkeeper Matt Jordan will be in nets for the Impact. A number of players who did not play against Fiesole Caldine Tuesday should play for approximately 75 minutes.
The Impact, which stayed two weeks in Fiesole, Italy, will be back in Quebec, Friday at 3:15 pm, at Montreal-Trudeau Airport.
The club will then continue its daily trainings in Montreal in preparation for the CONCACAF Champions League quarterfinal series. The home game will be played February 25, at Olympic Stadium, while the away game in Mexico will be held March 5, in Torreon.
