
Illinois Piasa Signs Former Wash U Standout and NSCAA All-American Cody Costakis

Pontoon Beach, IL, 10/3/13 - Illinois Piasa is proud to announce another big player signing in former Washington University standout Cody Costakis. Cody was born in Puyallup, Washington. He played high school soccer in the state of Washington at the Charles Wright Academy where he earned 1st Team All-State honors in 2007. Cody was a 2011 NSCAA All-American at Washington University in St. Louis, Missouri. He was also an NSCAA Academic All-American that same year.
"Cody is a talented player and we are happy to have him on the team. He is extremely quick with excellent strength. He has exceptional offensive instincts and is adept at both creating chances for himself and his teammates," said Head Coach Doug Montroy, "Cody is a very hardworking midfield player that hustles box-to-box. He raised the eyebrows of our staff and veteran players at a recent preseason workout because of his technical ability, work ethic, and high soccer IQ. Here is another young exciting player that Piasa fans will quickly fall in love with."
" I love to play soccer, and I'm so thankful that Illinois Piasa has given me the chance to do what I love in a highly competitive environment. I'm looking forward to having another opportunity to learn and push myself," said Cody Costakis after signing with Piasa.
