Illinois Piasa Announces Addition of Fitness Coach

(Granite City, IL) Scott Ivie, Owner of Focus Fitness, has joined Illinois Piasa as the newest member of the coaching staff. Ivie a native of Granite City and long time owner of Scott Ivie's Focus Fitness in Edwardsville, IL, is now the Fitness Coach making him the man responsible for both the Pro and Premier teams' fitness training. Scott was introduced to the players at training camp last Tuesday evening and had the opportunity to take the boys through their first fitness session with him.

"I've known Scott for about eight years. He was my personal trainer for a couple of years, so I know firsthand what he is capable of getting our athletes to achieve. He is very good at what he does. As soon as we made the decision to step to the pro level, I knew I wanted to try to get him involved," said Matt Williams, Illinois Piasa GM.

Scott Ivie is a United States Marine Corps veteran, having spent the last several years of his enlistment as a water survival instructor. After his time in the Corps, he worked as a physical therapist at a sports medicine clinic. He opened his own business twelve years ago with the mission of providing everyone with affordable personal training.

"I think it is a great opportunity to be able to get the team ready for the coming season, and to be able to show them how to train not only to increase their soccer conditioning, but to show them how important their overall conditioning is as they move to the next level of competition," said Scott Ivie."This falls directly in line with the new sports training programs we are designing at Focus Fitness."
