
IFL's Players of the Week Announced

Richmond, VA - The Indoor Football League (IFL) is proud to announce the Week 17 Vidswap.com Players of the Week.
Offensive Players of the Week: Jameel Sewell (QB, Nebraska Danger)
Week 17 marks the third Offensive Player of the Week award for Danger QB Jameel Sewell (Week 4, Week 6). Sewell (6'3, 220, Virginia) led the Danger to a 67-55 road victory over the Colorado Ice. With the win, the Danger clinched the #1 seed in the Intense Conference and earned home field advantage in the first round of the playoffs. For the game, Sewell completed 18 of 28 passes for 235 yards and 5 touchdowns while adding 32 yards on 8 rushes and 2 rushing touchdowns. Sewell has distinguished himself as one of the most dynamic players in the IFL and is a favorite for winning the 2013 IFL MVP. Prior to beginning their quest for the United Bowl Championship, the Danger will host their final regular season game against the Tri-Cities Fever this weekend.
Defensive Player of the Week: Rudell Crim (DB, Tri-Cities Fever)
Rudell Crim (5'10, 180, Arkansas) becomes the second member of the Fever defensive secondary to earn Defensive Player of the Week honors (Lionell Singleton Week 15). In a 33-6 victory over the Wyoming Cavalry, the Fever defense dominated the flow of the game. Tri-Cities kept Wyoming scoreless for most of the contest with the Cavalry's lone touchdown coming late in the 4th quarter. For the game, Crim registered 5 tackles and 3 interceptions. Crim is now tied for 2nd in the IFL with 8 interceptions for the season, trailing only teammate Singleton (9). After a 1-6 start, the Fever are the hottest team in the IFL, winning 5 of 6 games to pull their record to 6-7. The team will look to finish the season at .500 with a win in Nebraska this weekend.
Special Teams Player of the Week: T.J. Simmons (KR, Cedar Rapids Titans)
The Cedar Rapids Titans earned the team's first ever trip to the playoffs with a 49-42 victory over the Green Bay Blizzard. In the process, T.J. Simmons (5'8, 180, South Dakota) was named Special Teams Player of the Week for the second time in 2013 (Week 1). In a back and forth battle, special teams was the difference in this game as Simmons repeatedly set up the Titan's offense with great field position. Simmons totaled 118 yards on 5 kickoff returns. However, the biggest play of the game came in the 3rd quarter when Simmons returned a missed Green Bay field goal attempt 46 yards for a touchdown. Simmons and the Titans have the luxury of a bye in the final week of the regular season to recover before a physical first round playoff matchup with the Sioux Falls Storm.
