IFL Week 6 Players of the Week Announced

The Indoor Football League (IFL) is proud to announce the Vidswap.com Players of the Week for Week 6 of the 2019 IFL season.

OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Daquan Neal (QB, Iowa Barnstormers)

The Iowa Barnstormers moved to 4-0 on the season after taking down in-state rival the Cedar Rapids River Kings 41-20 in Week 6. QB Daquan Neal led the way for Iowa and continues to be a strong successor to last year's IFL MVP Drew Powell. Neal was extremely efficient in the passing game completing 14 of 17 passes for 124 yards and one touchdown. He also paced the Barnstormers on the ground rushing a team-high 12 times for 58 yards and three touchdowns. Neal leads the IFL in completion percentage at 80.3 percent. He is also third in the IFL in passing touchdowns with 14. Neal and the Barnstormers prepare for a rematch against the River Kings in Des Moines in Week 7.

DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Davontae Merriweather (DB, Arizona Rattlers)

In a battle of former IFL champions, the Arizona Rattlers edged the Sioux Falls Storm 58-40 in Week 6. The Rattlers now move to 4-0 on the season and are tied with the Iowa Barnstormers as the only undefeated teams remaining. Arizona DB Davontae Merriweather proved to be a difference maker in holding the six-time IFL champions to just 40 points. Early in the third quarter, Merriweather scooped up a Storm fumble and returned it 15 yards for a touchdown. Merriweather's touchdown helped give the Rattlers a 14 point lead. Merriweather proceeded to finish the game with 10 total tackles. The Arizona Rattlers host the San Diego Strike Force in Week 7.

SPECIAL TEAMS PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Diego Marquez (K, Tucson Sugar Skulls)

The Tucson Sugar Skulls moved to 3-1 on the season as the team held off the San Diego Strike Force 51-31 in Week 6. Late in the second quarter a rare thing happened in indoor football: a kicker scored a touchdown. After a bad snap on a called fake field goal, Sugar Skulls K Diego Marquez scooped up the ball and rushed four yards for a touchdown. The rushing touchdown helped give the Sugar Skulls a ten point lead in what was up to then a back and forth game. Marquez also converted a 45 yard field goal and all six of his extra point attempts. The Tucson Sugar Skulls travel to face the Nebraska Danger in Week 7.
