IFL Announces Week Twenty Players of the Week

The Indoor Football League is proud to announce the Players of the Week for Round One of the IFL Playoffs of the 2022 season. Quad City Quarterback, E.J. Hilliard takes Offensive Player of the Week. Arizona Defensive Back, Kyree Woods earns Defensive Player of the Week and Special Teams Player of the Week goes to Northern Arizona returner, Imeek Watkins.
E.J. Hilliard - OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
The #3 seed Quad City Steamwheelers came in as the underdogs. But in thrilling fashion, the Steamwheelers upset the #2 Massachusetts Pirates 39-38 in overtime. Quad City quarterback E.J. Hilliard put his team on his shoulders and didn't let them down. Hilliard threw 10 completions for 146 yards and two touchdowns. He also had 43 rushing yards and three touchdowns. Hilliard accumulated five touchdowns to help his team dethrone the reigning champs.
Kyree Woods - DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
In the opening round of playoffs, the Arizona Rattlers showed why they are the #1 seed in the Western Conference. Arizona dominated Duke City with a 53-14 victory. The defense had a spectacular showing that included a second half shutout. Rattler's defensive back, Kyree Woods went off. Woods intercepted FOUR passes in the contest. He also tallied 5.5 tackles and a pass breakup.
Imeek Watkins - SPECIAL TEAMS PLAYER OF THE WEEK
The Northern Arizona Wranglers earned their spot in the Western Conference Championship after a 49-30 win over the Tucson Sugar Skulls. The Wranglers Special Teams shined. They blocked a field goal, which is big when you end up winning by 1 point. STPOTW goes to NAZ wide receiver, Imeek Watkins. Watkins returned three kicks for a total of 100 yards, including a 56-yard touchdown return. Imeek's touchdown return came with just six minutes to go in the first half, putting the Wranglers up by 20.
It's Conference Championship Week. The games begin Friday with the Eastern Conference Championship matchup between the #1 Frisco Fighters vs #3 Quad City Steamwheelers.
