IFL Announces Week Sixteen Players of the Week

The Indoor Football League is proud to announce the Players of the Week for Week 16 of the 2022 season. Quad City Quarterback, E.J. Hilliard and Massachusetts Quarterback, Taz Wilson are Co-Offensive Players of the Week. Bismarck Defensive Back, Dreko Statham, earns Defensive Player of the Week. Special Teams Player of the Week goes to Frisco Kick Returner, Sheldon Augustine.
E.J. Hilliard & Taz Wilson - CO-OFFENSIVE PLAYERS OF THE WEEK
Two of best quarterback performances of the season happened in the same week. Massachusetts Quarterback, Taz Wilson, had some revenge on the Sioux Falls Storm, who released him earlier this season. Wilson went off. He completed 17 of 22 for 245 yards and seven touchdowns. He also ran for 25 yards and two touchdowns. E.J. Hilliard put on one of the best performances of the year. He threw 94 passing yards with three passing touchdowns as well as 145 rushing yards and five rushing touchdowns. That's 17 touchdowns between the two.
Dreko Statham - DEFENSIVE PLAYERS OF THE WEEK
Bismarck might be out of playoff contention, but that doesn't mean they're not leaving it all on the field. Bismarck Defensive Back, Dreko Statham showed no signs of letting off the gas. He amassed 11 tackles in one game, including one for loss. He also added three pass breakups in coverage.
Sheldon Augustine - SPECIAL TEAMS PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Frisco is...well, flying. Not only was their quarterback been offensive player of the week last week, they're also a nightmare for opposing Specials Teams. This week, Frisco Kick Returner, Sheldon Augustine was a force. Augustine had five kickoff returns for a total of 137 yards. That gives him an average return of 27.4 yards. While he didn't return one for a touchdown, he got about as close as you can. He returned a 54-yard kickoff for 53 yards to the opposing one yard line.
Week 17 features four games on Saturday including a clash at the top of the Western Conference between the Northern Arizona Wranglers and the Arizona Rattlers. Followed by three other games on Saturday. Catch all of the action on the IFL YouTube Channel.
